Spenti i riflettori sulla cerimonia di chiusura degli Youth Sailing World Championships la parola passa a chi dietro le quinte ha lavorato per portare gli atleti al meglio della condizione in questo momento della stagione. Lo staff Federale presente a Buzios ha iniziato da lontano questo percorso e nei giorni in Brasile ha supportato costantemente i ragazzi esaminando quotidianamente strategie e tattiche da mettere in pratica in acqua.

Gigi Picciau: " La competizione è stata un'entusiasmante sfida, che ha messo tutti a dura prova dovendo affrontare una varietà di condizioni meteorologiche. Grazie a una squadra di livello eccezionale e al significativo impegno e preparazione preliminare, su cui desidero mettere l'accento, siamo riusciti a raggiungere prestazioni di assoluto valore. La vittoria in questa competizione è da condividere con tutti i tecnici degli atleti e, in particolare nella categoria 420 M/Mix, è in gran parte merito del lavoro quotidiano straordinario di Chicco Maltinti. La preparazione di un campionato di questa portata richiede una qualità di lavoro eccezionale svolta durante l'anno, e con orgoglio posso affermare che tutti noi, sia come staff che come atleti, abbiamo dedicato un impegno intenso. Voglio esprimere gratitudine anche ad Alessandra Sensini, sempre impegnata a dare il massimo e a tirare fuori il massimo da tutti e al presidente Ettorre, che ha presenziato in modo discreto e positivo, creando un ambiente confortevole per i ragazzi senza esercitare pressioni eccessive. Quest'anno è stato un trionfo, con il raggiungimento di obiettivi ambiziosi e la quasi completa realizzazione di ciò che speravamo. Un sentito ringraziamento a tutti i colleghi per il contributo prezioso in questa avventura."
Chicco Caricato: "Si è concluso un Campionato molto impegnativo: ogni giornata ha portato con sé nuovi scenari e condizioni, con il vento che è passato da leggero a oltre 20 nodi negli ultimi due giorni. La nostra squadra ha dimostrato una notevole capacità di adattamento a queste variazioni, mantenendo comunque una performance costante. Affrontare una flotta di altissimo livello ha reso ogni gara un'opportunità per mettere alla prova le abilità tecniche dei nostri atleti, ma è stata la determinazione e la voglia di primeggiare che hanno fatto davvero la differenza: questi risultati si ottengono lavorando prova dopo prova, con costanza senza buttare via nulla. Nel cuore di tutto ciò, lo spirito di squadra è stato il nostro asso nella manica, un elemento fondamentale che ha creato un legame speciale tra gli atleti e ha contribuito a superare ogni ostacolo. Insieme, abbiamo affrontato le sfide, celebrato i successi e creato un ambiente positivo e collaborativo che ha reso questo campionato un'esperienza indimenticabile per tutti noi."
Daniel Loperfido: “La trasferta di Buzios è iniziata questa estate, nel momento in cui è stata scelta la squadra che vi avrebbe preso parte. Prima di partire c'è stato il collegiale a Civitavecchia per mettere a punto gli ultimi dettagli e fare squadra (molte classi non si incontrano durante l'anno).
La squadra quest'anno era forte in quanto vantava alcuni titoli mondiali ma poi per concretizzare c'è bisogno di mantenere quel clima motivazionale che cresce giorno dopo giorno. Il primo giorno di regate tanti equipaggi sono partiti col piede giusto e hanno fatto da traino a chi ha tentennato nella giornata iniziale: alla fine tutti volevano ben figurare e, al di là del risultato raggiunto, non si sono risparmiati. In particolare è stato bello vedere equipaggi distanti dal podio contenti a fine giornata di aver dato il proprio contributo alla vincita del trofeo per Nazioni che abbiamo meritato.”

The Federal staff present in Buzios embarked on this journey from afar, supporting the athletes throughout their days in Brazil by examining strategies and tactics to be implemented on the water.

Thanks to an exceptional team and significant commitment and preliminary preparation, which I would like to emphasize, we were able to achieve performances of absolute value. The victory in this competition is to be shared with all the athletes' coaches, and especially in the 420 M/Mix category, it is largely due to the extraordinary daily work of Chicco Maltinti. Chicco Caricato: "A very challenging Championship has come to an end: each day brought new scenarios and conditions, with the wind ranging from light to over 20 knots in the last two days. Our team demonstrated remarkable adaptability to these changes, maintaining a consistent performance. Facing a high-level fleet made every race an opportunity to test the technical skills of our athletes, but it was determination and the desire to excel that truly made the difference: these results are achieved by working, trial after trial, with consistency without wasting anything. In the heart of it all, team spirit was our ace in the hole, a fundamental element that created a special bond among the athletes and helped overcome every obstacle. Together, we faced challenges, celebrated successes, and created a positive and collaborative environment that made this championship an unforgettable experience for all of us."
Daniel Loperfido: "The Buzios trip began this summer, when the team that would participate was selected. Before leaving, there was a training camp in Civitavecchia to fine-tune the details and build team cohesion (many classes do not meet during the year). The team was strong this year, boasting some world titles, but to materialize that, it is necessary to maintain that motivational atmosphere that grows day by day. On the first day of races, many crews started on the right foot and set the pace for those who hesitated on the initial day: in the end, everyone wanted to perform well, and beyond the achieved result, they did not spare any effort. In particular, it was great to see crews distant from the podium content at the end of the day for having contributed to the trophy for Nations that we deserved."
