Si è tenuto questa mattina presso la sede della Federazione Italiana Vela a Genova un incontro tra FIV e ILCA per definire la situazione della classe Laser in Italia. All’incontro erano state invitate anche AICL e Assolaser; AICL ha partecipato mentre nessuno si è presentato per Assolaser.
Si è dovuto constatare che Assolaser, oltre a non presentarsi all’incontro, ha convocato per il giorno 17 dicembre 2017 l’Assemblea Generale Annuale avente ad oggetto, tra l’altro, l’elezione del Consiglio Direttivo senza mettere all’ordine del giorno la discussione e l’approvazione del nuovo statuto, concordato con FIV.
Constatata la chiara assenza di volontà in Assolaser di porre termine ai problemi dei laseristi italiani, FIV ha ritenuto di prospettare come unica soluzione che sia ILCA ad intervenire direttamente, attuando il disconoscimento di Assolaser ed il riconoscimento di AICL quale nuova Associazione di Distretto in Italia. Consapevole che per questo percorso occorrerà tempo, FIV ha anche richiesto che ILCA a partire dal 1 gennaio 2018 proceda al tesseramento diretto dei laseristi italiani, tramite FIV, a fronte del pagamento della sola quota dovuta alla classe internazionale, fatta salvo l’accordo già raggiunto per la partecipazione degli atleti italiani alle manifestazioni internazionali.
Il Segretario Esecutivo Emerito di ILCA Jeff Martin si è riservato di consultare il World Council di ILCA e dare una risposta entro pochi giorni.
A meeting between FIV (President Ettorre) and ILCA (Executive Secretary Emeritus Jeff Martin) was held today at the headquarters of the Italian Sailing Federation in Genoa to define the situation of the Laser class in Italy. AICL and Assolaser were also invited to the meeting.

It has been noted that Assolaser, in addition to not presenting itself at the meeting, has called for the 17th December 2017 the Annual General Meeting concerning, inter alia, the election of the Board of Directors without putting on the agenda the discussion and the approval of the new statute, agreed with FIV. Realized the clear absence of will in Assolaser to put an end to the problems of Italian laser sailors, FIV has decided to envisage as the only solution that is ILCA to intervene directly, implementing the disclaimer of Assolaser and the recognition of AICL as the new District Association in Italy.
Aware that this path will take time, FIV has also requested that ILCA proceed from 1 January 2018 to the direct registration of Italian laser sailors, through FIV, against the payment of the only fee due to the international class, subject what already agreed about the entries of Italian athletes to international events. The Executive Secretary Emeritus of ILCA Mr. Jeff Martin has reserved to give an answer within a few days.
