Si sono aperti a Búzios gli Youth Sailing World Championships con una giornata caratterizzata da buone prestazioni degli atleti italiani; non hanno ancora gareggiato i Kite.

Ottimo primo posto nel 420 Maschile/Mix con 420 M/MIX per Quan Adriano Cardi e Mattia Tognocchi che chiudono la prima giornata al primo posto mentre nel 420 Femminile Emma Maltese e Elena Sofia Urti sono ottave.

Bene negli iQFOiL maschili Leonardo Tomasini che dopo quattro prove è al terzo posto così come Carola Colasanto nei femminili. Nella classe ILCA 6 bene Emma Mattivi seconda e Mattia Cesana quarto.

Nel Nacra 15 Alessandro Vargiu e Carolina Vargiu sono al sesto posto. Attardati nel 29er Maschile/Mix Alex Demurtas e Giovanni Santi e in quello femminile Malika Bellomi e Beatrice Conti.

Queste le parole di Alessandra Sensini: “è stata una giornata estremamente impegnativa, abbiamo avuto buoni spunti da parte di tutti i ragazzi che necessariamente devono prendere confidenza con un impegno di livello internazionale così importante come gli Youth Sailing World Championships. Sarà un mondiale molto lungo e impegnativo per tutti, che dovrà essere costruito giorno per giorno, prova dopo prova. L’importante è mantenere la lucidità e la concentrazione fino alla fine. Penso che questi ragazzi possano dire la loro in ogni prova. Siamo arrivati con una squadra forte e preparata che oggi ha dimostrato sui vari campi di regata il proprio valore ma abbiamo la consapevolezza che possiamo migliorare e crescere durante questa settimana.”

Started today, the Youth Sailing World Championships

The Youth Sailing World Championships kicked off today in Búzios with a day marked by strong performances from the Italian athletes; the Kite events have not started yet.

An excellent first place in the 420 Male/Mixed with 420 M/MIX for Quan Adriano Cardi and Mattia Tognocchi, closing the first day in the lead. In the 420 Female category, Emma Maltese and Elena Sofia Urti are in eighth place.

In the male iQFOiL, Leonardo Tomasini is in third place after four races, as well as Carola Colasanto in the female category. In the ILCA 6 class, Emma Mattivi is second, and Mattia Cesana is fourth.

In the Nacra 15, Alessandro Vargiu and Carolina Vargiu are in sixth place. Lagging behind in the 29er Male/Mixed are Alex Demurtas and Giovanni Santi, and in the female category, Malika Bellomi and Beatrice Conti.

It will be a very long and challenging championship for everyone, to be built day by day, race after race. The important thing is to maintain clarity and concentration until the end. I believe these young athletes can make their mark in every race. We arrived with a strong and prepared team that today demonstrated its worth on various racecourses, but we are aware that we can improve and grow during this week."
